I had thought this would have been better

I purchased this book, as it contains subject matter I do truly enjoy. I am glad that I purchased it from a third party seller, Instead of directly from amazon. Having paid less ( shipping included) then amazon sells is little solace though. While the pictures taken I am sure look good in the hands of the photographer, bringing it to print is probably something different.(the front and back cover both look great) The paper inside that was used to print on is in my opinion of poor quality compared to the price of the book.

The Pictures, with the exception of the last picture are good source material, stuff I haven't seen before. A few of the pictures I think could have been better, crisper, but again, this I imagine could happen in the printing process and the actual negatives/photo prints look great. Some of the pictures have really good dynamic contrast, and stand out heads above the others.

The Picture on the last page... part of it is blurry! I couldn't believe it when I looked at it. I thought maybe the photographer was focusing on what was behind the pumps but then the whole pump would have been blurred out and the Background sharp. This was not the case, the bottom of the pump itself was blurry, again perhaps this was something that happened with the printer, and not the photographer.

My final complaint, which is more of a personal thing is, while the pictures do tell stories, I really would have liked to know where they were taken, and in some cases what I was looking at. But again this is more my personal taste.

For a book printed in the U.S.A. ( trust me i was shocked by that! ) I really expected more on quality.

Great for intermediate beginners

Great song book. That said it's only really good for beginners with an instructor. This does have easy to read tabs and chords, but no real notes on strumming or picking patterns that were easy to understand. With out some knowledge of notation (There are some very bare notations) an absolute beginner will struggle to play the songs as they should sound.
That said I gave it 5 stars because it is really a jumbo book of 245 songs. Most of the songs are short enough to fit on one to two pages which makes it great to just open and play without worrying about flipping pages mid tune.

While Somaliland doesn't offer a wide range of tourist activities, much praise is deserved for this guide book. Tiny, self-reliant and democratic Somaliland has long deserved the praise of others, if only for having achieved what it has achieved with little outside help and in an troublesome region.

This guide book is well presented and researched, giving valuable and accesible information on the legacy of this little known -and officially invisible- country. Philip Briggs gives insightful views on Somaliland: of course the text is more simplified than the lengthy academic books on the country, but it is still comprehensive and has the honour of crucially being the first book to specifically explain how to get to lesser known sites in Somaliland like Zeila, Erigavo and Daallo Escarpment and a few treasures I had honestly never heard of even on my visits to the country.

For those comparing it to the Somaliland chapter of the Lonely Planet Ethiopia/Eritrea book, this guide book is much more extensive and well-presented, and includes at least a dozen sites not mentioned in Lonely Planet.

Eastern Ethiopia (Harar, Dire Dawa and Jijiga) and Addis Ababa are also included in a reduced form, as many travellers will be accessing Somaliland from there.

Nonetheless, I wish Philip Briggs would consider including Djibouti too, as quite a few travellers also stop-over there.

In some versions, she tricks the lecherous emperor, who wants to marry her, into providing a stately funeral for her husband and then takes her own life.

The versions presented here are ballads and chantefables (alternating chanted verse and recited prose), five from urban printed texts from the late Imperial and early Republican periods, and five from oral performances and partially reconstructed texts collected in rural areas in recent decades. They represent a wide range of genres, regional styles, dates, and content. From one version to another, different elements of the story--the circumstances of Meng Jiangnu's marriage, her relationship with her parents-in-law, the journey to the wall, her grief, her defiance of the emperor--are elaborated upon, downplayed, or left out altogether depending on the particular moral lessons that tale authors wished to impart.

Idema brings together his considerable translation skills and broad knowledge of Chinese literature to present an assortment of tales and insightful commentary that will be a gold mine of information for scholars in a number of disciplines. This is a rare occurrence for me to put on my DNF shelf so late in the book, but I just wasn't feeling it. I felt no connection to the main characters and I felt like their relationship was kinda cheesy and predictable. I found myself skimming and then gave up. I didn't find either of them really all that interesting and I knew how the book was going to end about halfway through (I confirmed by going to the end and reading the last few paragraphs). It's an easy and sometimes steamy read, but otherwise there's not much to it. Sorry Ms. Shade.

New Author for me, and I'm so happy I one-clicked...

Everly came across my newsfeed early today and the description was so interesting and good that I simply one-clicked on the spot.
I've never read anything by S.M. Shade before but now that I have I'm simply hooked.

I started Everly about two hours ago, I just now finished so you can tell that I couldn't even put my kindle down. Seriously, the first page will have you hooked.

Now normally I don't like cliffhangers, the wait for the next book is what irks me and I tend to read a lot in between that when I pick up the second I'll start reading to the point of being confused too the point I have to go back too the first and read the last four or five chapters.

S.M. Shade has really outdone herself with this cliffhanger, literally on the edge of my seat that I won't even mind going back to the first too refresh my memory.

The one thing that I wish was more was the 'sexy time'. More build up maybe a little foreplay a little more descriptive of you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I loved their time together. It just sort of lack and sounded more wham bam thank you mam kind of thing.
But their chemistry is hot, them together can be explosive. I loved it though.

I loved Everly and if I could I'll give it more stars.
Just, please, please tell me I don't have long to wait for Mason.
I really do need more of Mason and Everly like bad even though I finished about 20 minutes ago.
The storyline, the chemistry, the laughs I had...I need more already.
The ended that had me on my seat, I need like need to know what happens.

I also need more of the hot as sin alpha male named Mason. Protective, tattooed, smoked hot. I mean who wouldn't want more.
I loved Everly, being able to be inside her head, her thinking, determination, funny as heck but the most important her strength.
Hurt for her a few times, cried with her and connected with her on a personal level and that's rare for me.

If you have yet to one-click this baby, your missing out and I suggest you get your finger ready and do it.

Great start to a new series!

This book tells the story of Everly, a former foster child, who is reluctant to form any romantic relationships....and Mason, a former MMA champ, philanthropist who desperately wants to form a relationship with her. Mason's pursuit of Everly was stalkerish, but sweet. He wasn't overly aggressive, or creepy.

This was a relatively quick, but highly entertaining read. The story flowed pretty smoothly and I was able to get through it in one sitting.

What I liked:
-I laughed out loud several times.
- though it was a bit of "insta-love", the Everly and Mason weren't overly annoying about it
- there was a quite a bit of angst/drama which made the story interesting
-the secondary characters added a lot of dimension to the story. They weren't flat or boring, but they also did not take over the story.

What I didn't like
- There was a minor misunderstanding between the hero/heroine that I think could have been avoided if they communicated with each other, specifically, if the heroine would just talk to the hero about her concerns.

Favorite lines:
- "Sorry, I was....daydreaming." "You mean dayf***ing."
- "Men are dicks. Maybe I should just be a lesbian." "B!tches are crazy too," I point out.
- "And Marie's not wrong," I add. "A little change of dick never hurt anybody."
- Amy calling him Jason to piss him off.

About the Author
Dr. Robert E. Franken is a professor Emeritus at the University of Calgary, with a research focus on better understanding curiosity and exploratory behavior. He is currently living part of the year in Vancouver, British Columbia and part of the year in the Rocky Mountains. Much of his research addresses understanding sensation seekers who are motivated by the need to experience varied, novel, and complex sensations and are willing to take risks in order to experience such.

FRANKEN: HUMAN MOTIVATION, FIFTH EDITION

I teach an upper division college course with this textbook; the course is, "Psychology of Motivation." I continue to use the 2002 Fifth Edition, because the newer Sixth Edition is 98% identical to the Fifth. First, the fact that this book has reached six editions shows that it is highly successful; it is the most popularly chosen text for motivation courses. EMOTION is a large topic in the book, with five chapters. Students have responded positively to the book. As is true with other upper division textbooks in psychology, the book has a "plain appearance," lacking color printing, and other features that are common with lower division textbooks. There is no study guide, and no review questions at the ends of chapters. Some topics overlap with other psychology courses: these topics are sleep, drug addiction, sexuality. One of the most interesting specialized topics is the sensation-seeking personality --- people who love sports that are "dangerous to life and limb." Physiological topics are also covered ---- most interesting of which is the role of the brain's amygdala in negative motives and emotions ---- the amygdala is the brain's seat of prejudicial beliefs. It did not come with the access card like it says it does but at least I didn't need it. It was much cheaper to rent through amazon than it was my own online school library.

Eamon P. Doherty Ph.D., MAS, MA, B.S., A.A.S., PDA Seizure and Examination Certificate, Private Investigation Course Certificate, has for the past six years taught the following within that time frame: computer science, network security, computer forensic examination, cell phone seizure and examination, and a class in electronic eavesdropping device detection. Dr. Doherty has worked in both academia and private consulting to advance the education of various types of investigators and others. Dr. Doherty has also been a volunteer at a long term care facility and is interested in making difficult topics regarding network security, escams, and investigation accessible to everyone in order to help them improve both their safety and lives. Joel Liebesfeld, AAS, BS, MA, Post Graduate Certificate Program in Computer Security and Forensic Administration, has for the past six years used his diverse 30+ years of electrical industry experience for the investigation of engineering loss, particularly focusing on loss related to fire, arson, product defect and/or electrical anomalies, resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. These losses mainly stemmed from electrical accidents, defects, deficiencies or were related to a crime.
