About the Author
Blessed POPE JOHN PAUL II (1920-2005), born Karol Jozef Wojtyla, was beatified on May 1, 2011. He reigned as Pope of the Roman Catholic Church from October 16, 1978 until his death on April 2, 2005, at the age of 84. Life altering, if you are so inclined.

Without a doubt, some of the most powerful writings of the greatest Pope of the twentieth century. The story behind this book is as powerful as its contents. Over the past 15 years I have recommended this book to many of my non-Catholic, as well as Catholic, friends. Few come away unmoved, some have been comforted, some have been changed. Not for the atheist.

Philosophy of Catholicism

Phew, this book is not long, but it took me a year to read. Throughout, John Paul II refers regularly to various philosophers - Aristotle, Nietzsche, many others I've never heard of. Not only am I ignorant of the theories, but the "philosophical proofs" method of writing has always somewhat bored me. For someone interested in simpler, prayer-filled writing, this may not be the best choice.
