Good story, but. . .
By kathryn
I enjoyed the story, but the grammar is horrendous! Do British writers know how to use the pronouns "I" and "me?" The numerous mistakes were distracting, the author clearly does not understand when to use the objective case. I do not like to have to edit as I read. I also had a problem with the unfortunate punctuation. One other thing, the outcome was predictable, I was able to identify the culprit early in the story!

Interesting plot but abysmal editing.
By Gac
The book "Abduction" had an interesting plot. It dragged in places, but I was interested enough to finish it. Unfortunately, the ABYSMAL grammar and punctuation made the reading difficult. The author could not have had an editor. Or, if she did, she had an equally poorly-educated editor. Certainly someone could have corrected her run-on sentences, misuse of apostrophes, lack of needed commas, poor sentence structure, incorrect use of "me" and "I". I'm very unlikely to pick up another of her books, regardless of how highly praised the plot is.

Interesting Read
By Author Stephanie Parker McKean
The author has done a brilliant job of telling the story through the eyes of the main characters. Proper punctuation—especially the use of commas—would make the story easier to read. While the story drags a bit in some places, tension holds readers who want to learn the truth about Grace Bryson’s abduction.
Elsie Bryson McDonald’s sister was abducted at a birthday party when she was three. Elsie has always believed that Grace is alive. When she sees a young woman—fourteen years later—with a strong family resemblance, she is sure it is her sister.
However, the girl introduces herself as Jane. Her father is a well known and respected physician. Everyone thinks Elsie is the victim of wishful thinking and hormonal changes from pregnancy. Even her husband and family members disbelieve her claim that she has found Grace.
Elsie goes to Detective Jack Priestly in an effort to get him to reopen the case. But after fourteen years, and in possession of no new evidence, Priestly offers Elsie no more hope and support than her family.
Elsie knows the lively young girl called “Jane” is her sister Grace. But how can she prove it? And how could three-year-old Grace Bryson have become the teen Jane Solomon?
